About the School

SR3_0887_cropped -5-17-12_webWelcome to the School of Social Work at the University of Central Florida. We are located on the 2nd floor of Health and Public Affairs I (HPA I). The school offers a variety of degree and certificate programs, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

The School of Social Work began in the early 1960s as a discipline in the Department of Sociology. With the advent of accreditation for undergraduate social work education, the program was among the first baccalaureate programs in Florida to be accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. Currently both the BSW and the MSW. programs are accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).

Over 700 students are enrolled in the School of Social Work, 340 in the BSW program and 400 in the MSW program. Many are
second-career students from a variety of vocational backgrounds.

Infant Mental Health ClassThe faculty and support staff of the School of Social Work bring together a wide diversity of experience and skills for the benefit of those who study and work in the field of social work. Strong partnerships with the community enhance the education of students and the employment opportunities of graduates. We take a great deal of pride in our faculty publications, research, hands-on instruction, academic integrity and the personal attention we are able to provide for our students.

I am very privileged to be in the B.S.W. program at UCF and learn from instructors such as yourself [referring to Dr. Dziegielewski].

I am so grateful for all I've received from this university, both as a student and an alumna.
