» Mental Health Care in Nursing Homes
Kathryn Frahm, also a doctoral student in public affairs – social work specialization, is currently investigating social work staffing in nursing homes and the psychosocial care provided for nursing home residents with a mental health history. "I am particularly interested if the quality of mental health care provided for residents is influenced by family support in the nursing home," Frahm said.

Perceptions of Clean-Up Activities in the Kibera Slum
Betsy Swart (M.S.W. '08) conducted a research project designed to explore and describe perceptions and experiences of street youth in Kibera, a "megaslum" in Nairobi, Kenya, as they planned and participated in environmental clean-up projects in the slum.
