Three Assistant Professors Selected for COHPA Research Fellowship

Wednesday, March 15, 2017

2Three faculty members from the School of Public Administration have been accepted into the College of Health and Public Affairs' 2017 Faculty Research Fellowship Program.

Assistant Professors Hui Li, Suzette Myser and Jungwon Yeo are three of the six faculty members in this year's cohort, which also includes faculty from the Department of Health Management and Informatics, the Department of Health Professions and the College of Medicine.

Each faculty member will work with a mentor on a research project with the goal of getting that project funded by a federal agency. The faculty research projects are:

  • Hui Li - "Collaborative Networks and Policy Advocacy in Homeless Youth Nonprofit Organizations"
  • Suzette Myser - "Advocacy Activities of Nonprofit Organizations and the Influence of Political Controls"
  • Jungwon Yeo - "Community-Based Refugee Resettlement in Central Florida"

Li will be mentored by Associate Professor Thomas Bryer, Myser will be mentored by Assistant Professor David Mitchell and Yeo will be mentored by Professor Naim Kapucu. Once the fellows have submitted their project to a federal agency, they will receive $2,500 in research seed funding from the college.
