Job Opportunities

Family Life Center is hiring a shelter manager for its emergency shelter. This person will be responsible for the effective operation of all shelter programs for victims of domestic violence, which includes the emergency shelter program, crisis line coverage and the shelter children's center. This includes providing and/or overseeing case management, crisis intervention counseling and advocacy to all shelter participants.

The incumbent is also responsible for the development and implementation of shelter programs, groups and classes, and  supervises, trains and schedules all shelter staff and shelter volunteers. If necessary, the shelter manager will also assist with shelter coverage, intakes, departures and crisis line coverage. This person must be able to work without direct supervision, must be able to deal with any emergency that may arise at the shelter, and must be capable of being flexible in his or her duties, shelter responsibilities and hours.
