Career and Professional Development

The School of Public Administration is dedicated to advancing students' expertise and establishing leaders in the field. We are committed to the success of our graduates even after the final courses are completed in the program. We not only connect students with experiential opportunities outside the classroom, but we also network with alumni and community partners to put your evolving body of knowledge to work.

We are here to coordinate with the University resources in Experiential Learning and Career Development to prepare you for the job market. We have opportunities to practice mock interviews, refine resumes, polish cover letters, strengthen professional portfolios, and identify your marketable skills for your personalized professional profile.

Goals

We seek to link graduates with professional organizations in the public, private and nonprofit sectors. Our priority is to identify student strengths and as well as areas of development to help students reach their greatest potential. We work to craft professional development strategies, build strong resumes, draft effective cover letters and coordinate learning opportunities beyond the classroom that translate into employment.  It is our mission to use student skills, talents, knowledge and passions to utilize on the job and do their best.

Fellowships and Scholarships

Throughout the year, there are a number of prestigious fellowships and scholarships available to students. These opportunities are highly competitive and often have minimal requirements such as 3.5 GPA and graduate coursework. Familiarize yourself with the instructions and deadlines for each post before beginning an application, as they are all different. Most of the applications are due by early fall.

Please use the resources at Career Services for online and in-person career workshops, advice, job search services and events. If you have any questions please reach out to Robyn.Ziperstein@ucf.edu for more information.
