UCF's School of Public Administration offers graduate and undergraduate programs in Urban and Regional Planning.
At the graduate level, students may pursue a Master of Science in Urban and Regional Planning or a Graduate Certificate in Urban and Regional Planning. At the undergraduate level, students may elect a Minor in Urban and Regional Planning.
GRADUATE PROGRAMS
UCF's graduate programs in urban and regional planning are designed to enhance knowledge, skills and career development in the field of community and urban and regional planning. Both programs emphasize sustainability and socially responsible planning.
Central Florida has been identified as one of the major growth areas in the state and planning has been recognized as one of the major policy issues for this area. The region has seen considerable growth over the past few years, and this trend is expected to continue with a population explosion of approximately 130 percent within the next few years. Master of Science in Urban and Regional Planning
The Master of Science in Urban and Regional Planning program was established at UCF in the fall of 2010. The 48-credit-hour program can be completed part-time, with students taking two classes per semester for eight semesters. Students are admitted to and progress through the program as a cohort.
This interdisciplinary program draws on faculty expertise from diverse disciplines, including ecology, engineering, health administration, public administration and sociology.
Students focus on one of three areas: environmental planning, health and human services planning, or transportation planning.
Graduate Certificate in Urban and Regional Planning
The Graduate Certificate in Urban and Regional Planning (URP) curriculum consists of 15 credits. Students complete a core of four courses (12 credits) and one elective (3 credits)
Admission to the URP certificate program is completion of a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution.
