The Master of Research Administration (M.R.A.) program will be launched in fall 2011.
MASTER OF RESEARCH ADMINISTRATION
The Master of Research Administration (M.R.A.) program is designed for individuals who are
interested in advancing their careers as research administrators. Increasing demands for
public accountability and the expanding regulatory environment have created a greater need
for research administrators by universities, medical institutions, government laboratories, and
independent profit and not-for-profit organizations involved in sponsored research. The
M.R.A. program of study will be offered completely online and provide a comprehensive
program to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to advance in their
professions as research administrators.
Program Curriculum
This is a two-year program and requires 36 credit hours using a cohort model. The M.R.A. is
designed specifically for the working professional. Areas of instruction are oriented toward
the common challenges encountered in research organizations during various phases of the
research process including: project development, project and financial management, legal
and regulatory compliance, technology transfer, leadership development, organizational
models, and other areas such as professional and research ethics.
Admission
Students must meet all admission requirements listed in the UCF graduate catalog (see
www.graduatecatalog.ucf.edu/). To be considered for admission, the following documentation
must be on file with UCF by the appropriate application deadline date:
Undergraduate transcripts showing GPA 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or equivalent
Graduate transcripts if you have completed graduate work in a related field
A current resume (must be uploaded to your application)
A Statement of Interest - please include your future goals in research administration
(must be uploaded to your application)
Three letters of recommendation from professors or professional individuals
Application Process
Applications for the M.R.A. program are accepted by the UCF College of Graduates Studies (www.graduate.ucf.edu) in the fall semester only. Applicants must submit application and all supporting documentation by the posted deadline date.
