MASTER OF Nonprofit Management
UCF's School of Public Administration offers a Master of Nonprofit Management
(MNM) program. The MNM program is completely online and offers opportunities for
students to prepare for employment or advance their careers as administrators in
the nonprofit sector or with those organizations that partner with the nonprofit
sector. Graduates of the MNM program are equipped with the nonprofit management
knowledge and analytic skills needed for a successful career in this rapidly
growing sector.
The program curriculum consists of 36 credits and includes a core of 27
credits and an option of:
(A) one 6000-level PAD elective (3 credits) and a thesis (6 credits) or
(B) one 6000-level PAD elective and two additional (5000 or 6000-level)
electives (9 credits)
Students must achieve a minimum grade of 3.0 ("B")
for each core class and maintain an overall program grade point average (GPA) of
3.0.
Internships are available and students without practical administrative
experience in the nonprofit sector are strongly advised to complete an
internship as part of their elective area.
Master of Nonprofit Management, Nonresident
Cohort
For nonresident students living outside of the
state of Florida, the Department offers an MNM Cohort program. The program is
totally online and the curriculum is identical to the resident program. Students
in the cohort program pay less than half of the out-of-state tuition.
DUAL DEGREE: Master of Public Administration and Master of Nonprofit
Management
The dual MPA/MNM degree provides
the opportunity for students to earn graduate degrees from two academic
programs, the Master of Public Administration and the Master of Nonprofit
Manqagement, concurrently. Students successfully completing this Dual Degre
track will have the skills and analytical techniques for successful careers in
both the public and nonprofit sectors.
The MPA/MNM dual degree program
curriculum consists of 66 credits. Students complete a core of 16 courses (48
credit hours), and advanced curriculum of five electives (15 credit hours) that
are selected in consultation with the advisor, and a capstone experience
equivalent to one course (3 credit hours). Prospective students must apply to
the dual degree track for both the MPA and MNM programs and pay an application
fee for each program. The MPA/MNM dual degree is not eligible for the special
non-resident cohort rate.
