UCF Fellowships
The merit-based fellowships listed below are offered through the UCF College of Graduate Studies.
To be considered for an award, students should submit a complete application for admission, including all supporting documentation (e.g., test scores, letters of recommendation, transcripts) by January 15. (These fellowships are offered annually, and will be updated, if needed, by the end of the year.)
GRE scores are required for fellowship consideration even if not required for admission.
Trustees Doctoral Fellowship - Flyer
College-nominated, selected by UCF Graduate Fellowships Committee
- Available to new doctoral students who are a U.S. citizen or resident alien
- Requires GRE score of at least 1300 on the combined verbal-quantitative sections, or GMAT score
of at least 630
- Requires evidence of experience in the field; awards, recognition, or honors; and professional
contributions and achievements
- Provides $18,000 fellowship per year for two years plus tuition support
- A UCF Student Health Insurance Policy through Aetna Student Health will be provided for individual
coverage for the duration of the award.
Presidential Doctoral Fellowship - Flyer
College-nominated, selected by UCF Graduate Fellowships Committee
- Available to new doctoral students
- Requires GRE score of at least 1300 on the combined verbal-quantitative sections, or GMAT score
of at least 630
- Requires evidence of experience in the field; awards, recognition, or honors; and professional
contributions and achievements
- Provides $17,000 fellowship plus tuition support in years 1 and 3; provides $17,000 assistantship
plus tuition support in years 2 and 4
- A UCF Student Health Insurance Policy through Aetna Student Health will be provided for individual
coverage for the duration of the award.
Provost’s Graduate Fellowship - Flyer
College-nominated
- Available to first-year graduate students who are U.S. citizens, resident aliens, or international
students
- Provides a $10,000 fellowship ($5,000 Fall and $5,000 Spring) from the UCF College of Graduate
Studies
- Includes tuition support for 9 graduate hours of course work per semester provided by program
- A UCF Student Health Insurance Policy through Aetna Student Health will be provided for individual
coverage for the duration of the award.
UCF Graduate RAMP Fellowship - Flyer and Application
Selected by UCF Graduate Fellowships Committee
Fellowship Application Due Date:
October 1, 2008 for Spring 2009 Admission
January 15, 2009 for Fall 2009 Admission
Criteria for fellowship selection include:
- Available to students admitted into a UCF master's or doctoral program. Preference will be given
to those students entering UCF doctoral programs.
- Requires successful completion of the UCF RAMP undergraduate program, including attendance
at all RAMP program workshops and activities and participation
in the Showcase of Undergraduate Research Excellence (SURE).
- Maintained a 3.0 GPA at UCF (good academic standing).
- An outstanding GRE score as compared to other students admitted into your graduate degree
program.
Requires submission of a fellowship application, including:
- UCF Graduate RAMP Fellowship Application
- Statement of background and goals addressing your reasons for pursuing graduate study
- Letter of reference from your undergraduate RAMP faculty member
- Letter of support from your graduate program indicating an interest in mentoring you and providing
continuing financial support after the fellowship ends
Provides $10,000 fellowship per year for up to two years for master's students; $10,000 fellowship per
year for up to four years for doctoral students. The UCF College of Graduate Studies provides
tuition support for matriculation and nonresident fees (charges for course hours) during each year
of the award.
This does not include the payment of local fees (health fee, athletic fee, building fee, etc.)
A UCF Student Health Insurance Policy through Aetna Student Health will be provided for individual
coverage for the duration of the award.

Fellowship Application Due Date:
October 1, 2008 for Spring 2009 Admission
January 15, 2009 for Fall 2009 Admission
Criteria for fellowship selection include:
- Available to students admitted into a UCF master's or doctoral program. Preference will be given
to those students entering UCF doctoral programs.
- Successful completion of the McNair Scholars program at UCF or another participating institution.
- An outstanding GRE score as compared to other students admitted into your graduate degree
program.
Requires submission of a fellowship application, including:
- UCF Graduate McNair Fellowship Application
- Statement of background and goals addressing your reasons for pursuing graduate study
Provides $10,000 fellowship per year for up to two years for master's students; $17,000 fellowship per
year for up to two years for doctoral students. The UCF College of Graduate Studies provides
tuition support for matriculation and nonresident fees (charges for course hours) during each year

California State University Fellowships - http://www.csus.edu/calst/programs/index.html -
California State University, Sacramento, offers four fellowships known collectively as the Capital Fellows Programs. Fellows in each program work for 11 months, receive health benefits, a monthly stipend, and are considered employees of Sacramento State. They work as full-time members of a legislative, executive, or judicial branch office. The selection process for the fellows programs starts in the late fall when the application period opens. Anyone with a degree from a four-year college or university is eligible to apply. Fellows are selected in the spring and start their programs in the early fall with an intensive four-week orientation conducted by the program faculty advisors, after which they interview with various offices before being placed. The application postmark deadline for ALL 2009-2010 Fellowships is February 25, 2009.
Governor's Policy Fellows Program - www.mhec.state.md.us/PolicyFellows/index.asp - The Governor's Policy Fellows Program is a two-year, post-graduate program that seeks to bring the nation's most distinguished policy graduates to serve in the Maryland State Government. The program provides participants with broad exposure to the development, implementation, and evaluation of public policy at the state level while providing the State direct access to an underutilized pool of talent.
Presidential Management Fellows Program - https://www.pmf.opm.gov/index.aspx - The Presidential Management Fellows Program enables the cabinet departments and over 50 federal agencies to hire highly qualified interns. These internships often serve as first steps for successful public policy management positions in the U.S. government.
Project On Government Oversight Fellowship -http://www.pogo.org/about/fellowships.html - The Project On Government Oversight Fellowship is open to students who are interested in working toward protecting the public interest. Fellows will investigate government subservience to special interests, conduct research, and perform clerical work. You must be motivated to expose corruption and explore solutions to be eligible for this fellowship.
The Institute for Human Studies - http://www.theihs.org/internship_programs/ - The Institute for Human Studies at George Mason University offers the Charles G. Koch Summer Fellow Program in Washington D.C. from June - August. Application Deadline is January 31. It is a paid public policy internship at free-market think tanks and research organizations around D.C. Housing, travel, and stipend provided.
