AT Alumni


Each year an outstanding student is selected from the current graduating class. Below is a list of our outstanding students from 2004 forward and what they are doing now.

Jillian Sutton


Jillian was a hardworking and focused student with a winning personality and a drive to succeed. She is currently an assistant athletic trainer at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida, and works with the women's basketball and softball teams. She is also pursuing a Masters of Medical Sciences with a concentration in athletic training from the University of South Florida.

Sarah Ford


Sarah was an exceptional student who earned Dean's List or President's Honor Roll each semester at UCF. She was a founding member of the Iota Tau Alpha Honor Society. Throughout her time as a UCF athletic training student, Sarah was a frequent volunteer for a wide variety of events and was an excellent representative of our program. She is currently seeking graduate assistanceships and looking forward to furthering her education.

Kristen Taranto

After graduating from UCF with a B.S. in Athletic Training, Kristen chose to further her education with the university in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at UCF. She is currently president of her class and is involved with volunteer activities.

Kelda Adams

Kelda graduated from Old Dominion University where she earned her M.S.(Ed.). She worked at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA., and currently she is working as a physician extender and pursuing avenues in performance/dance medicine in Orlando.

Eric Otero

Eric graduated in 2011 and took a job with Atlantic Rehabilitation Center as an athletic trainer. He is now enrolled in the physical therapy program at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

Alexa Kryglowski

Alexa received her B.S. in Athletic Training in 2010 and went on to graduate school earning her M.S. in Kinesiology from Troy University. She was presented with the 2012 Most Outstanding Graduate Student award. Alexa is currently employed as an assistant athletic trainer at Florida Atlantic University.

Carlos Gual

With his B.S. in Athletic Training complete, Carlos took a position as an assistant athletic trainer at the University of Maryland. He eventually moved to Albuquerque to pursue his M.S. in sports administration. Previously, he was a lecturer and clinical coordinator for the Athletic Training Program at the University of New Mexico. Now he is a member of the UCF AT Program faculty.

Steven Hajdas

Steve Hajdas is working in Texas as an athletic trainer in industry. Previously, he was head athletic trainer at Averett University in Danville, VA. He was responsible for the care of over 300 athletes on 13 teams. He received his B.S. in athletic training from UCF and his M.S. in exercise science from Marshall. Steve is also a performance enhancement specialist and a corrective exercise specialist.

Myra Segarra

Myra spent many years as the head athletic trainer for UCF's Recreation and Wellness Center. She was responsible for beginning and growing the program. She then graduated from the physician assistant program at Nova Southeastern University.

Erin Cash

Erin continued her education at Virginia Tech where she earned a M.S.(Ed.) in health promotions and a Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction. She is currently an assistant athletic trainer for women's basketball at James Madison University.

Kristen Brown Wright
Kristen took a job at Riverside High School in Burlington, NC, and has recently returned to Florida where she accepted a position with DonJoy in Jacksonville.
2004 Jennifer Farroll

Jennifer took a graduate assistant position at the University of South Carolina and earned her M.S. in 2006. She became head athletic trainer at Palm Beach Atlantic University. In 2010 Jennifer was hired as an assistant professor and associate athletic trainer form Women's Basketball at Union University in Jackson, TN. She is now a clinical coordinator at Union and still works with women's basketball. In addition she is working on her Ed.D. at Union in Higher Education Leadership.

Our new student organization, the Health Awareness Prevention Society, focuses on promoting a healthy lifestyle by increasing awareness of healthy living through education and prevention.
