Introduction
The Department of Health Management and Informatics was established in July 2008 by uniting the college's existing programs in health information management and health services administration to create a new department. The two programs were previously located in the Department of Health Professions, which continues to house the college's clinical and pre-clinical programs.

Both students and faculty members will benefit from this new structure. For example, further coordination of information presented in the health informatics and information management and health services administration programs will enhance student preparation for employment and national certification examination. And a focus on health management and informatics will add momentum to faculty research programs and efforts to secure external grant funding.

With innovative academic programs in health management — and a distinguished faculty that encourages service-learning and student research — the new department is well-positioned to address the challenges of a highly turbulent and competitive health care industry.

Location
The department office is located in Health and Public Affairs II, Suite 210, on UCF's Orlando campus. Faculty and staff offices are also located on the second floor of HPA II. Classrooms are located in both Health and Public Affairs I and II.
