Welcome to the Department of Health Management and
Informatics at the University of Central Florida. Our faculty and
staff are focused on student development and are committed to our
tagline: "Changing the health care delivery system, one student at
a time." This commitment stands for both the teaching and
research missions that faculty practice.
The department houses five distinct programs, including three
health service administration programs (Bachelor of Science, Master
of Science, and the Executive Master of Science Program) and
two informatics programs, including the Bachelor of Science in
Health Informatics and Information Management and the Master of
Science in Health Care Informatics. The department's faculty also
supports the Doctoral Program in Public Affairs and the state of
Florida's first Health Care Risk Management Licensure program.
The department's faculty conducts research and provides
instructional programs focused on problem solving and making better
decisions in health care. The department strives to produce
effective leaders in health care organizations that can analyze
situations, identify relevant decisions, apply appropriate
decision-making tools, and marshal relevant data and information in
