Students Learn Therapeutic Exercises
ORLANDO, April 22, 2009 — This spring, first-year physical therapy students
were
exposed to a variety of exercise techniques and theories as part of the course,
PHT 5241 -
Therapeutic Exercises.
"We want our students to understand what their patients will most likely be going through
at their recommendations as a future physical therapist," said course Instructor Bill Hanney.
Hanney held several classes at community facilities that offer, and in some
cases specialize in, certain types of skilled therapeutic regimes. At these facilities, the
students were exposed to the principles of Pilates and aquatic therapy.
PHT 5241 is a required course in the third semester of UCF's Doctor of Physical Therapy
program.
