Minor & Undergraduate Certificate

Minor in Communication Sciences and Disorders

Prerequisites
Students majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders OR pursuing Language Development and Disorders Certificate are not eligible for this minor.  A minimum GPA of 2.0 is required in all course work used to satisfy the minor. Grades less than C- (1.75) are not accepted. Credit by exam (TSD, military credit), internship or independent study cannot be used toward the minor.

The official requirements for a minor in Communication Sciences and Disorders can be found in the online UCF Undergraduate Catalog.

After completing this minor and other requirements, students are qualified to obtain a Florida Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Assistant license. For more information, please contact the Florida Department of Health at: www.doh.state.fl.us/mqa/speech/index.html.

Application Process
Students are strongly urged to begin taking required classes as early as possible to satisfy all prerequisites before the semester they plan to graduate.  Officially declaring the minor through their myUCF account must be done prior to submission of the "UCF Intent to Graduate Form." This form must be completed the semester before the student intends to graduate.
