Strengthening Communities in Central Florida Program

The UCF Center for Public and Nonprofit Management’s Strengthening Communities in Central Florida Program will provide capacity building services to nonprofits serving the distressed areas of south Lake, south Sumter and west Orange counties. The project will include the cities of Clermont, Groveland, Mascotte and Minneola in Lake County; Sumterville, Webster, Center Hill and Bushnell in Sumter County; and Pine Hills, MetroWest and Apopka in Orange County.

Nonprofits selected for capacity building services will deliver, within the service area, social services to help individuals secure and retain employment, earn higher wages or obtain better-quality jobs, and they will address individuals’ access to state and federal benefits.

Strengthening Communities in Central Florida Participant Survey Summary - As part of the SCCFP all the participants completed an organizational effectiveness survey. The survey mirrors the five capacity building program areas on which the training is based. The five areas are organizational development, program development, collaboration/partnerships and community engagement, leadership and evaluation of effectiveness. If you have any questions please contact the Center for Public and Nonprofit Management at cpnm@mail.ucf.edu.

Economic Recovery Community Asset Map - As part of the Strengthening Communities in Central Florida Program, a Community Asset Map was created of all the nonprofit organizations, government offices and educational institutions that provide economic recovery services.
