Orange County Children's Cabinet Partnership
The Center for Community Partnerships has partnered with the
Children's Cabinet of Orange County (Florida)* to develop online
resources for local nonprofit organizations that advocate for
the health and safety of children living in Orange County.
Specifically, the center is
collaborating with the cabinet's Research Committee to build
the "Nexus" -- an
online repository of data sets, research reports and other
resources -- to be housed on both the Center
for Community Partnerships and School of Public Administration's
Purpose of the Nexus:
to develop a directory to help common data users --
community planners, students, faculty, grant writers, etc. --
locate and make use of various resources
to maintain a centralized website for easy access to timely and
relevant information for the Central Florida community in the
form of research, reports and data sets.
to create an ongoing opportunity for exchange of relevant
community information regarding data sources and data needs
* The mission of the Children's
Cabinet is to provide the framework, advocacy platform
and organizational model to foster integration,
collaboration and development of all entities focused on
creating positive outcomes for the children of Orange County.
If we can change the system and bring people together to have the right kind of conversations, then we can really make a long-term change in people's lives -- and that is the goal.
