ORLANDO, July 2, 2008 — The college held a Passing-the-Torch Reception yesterday afternoon to recognize a change in leadership of the college effective that day.
Interim Dean Joyce Dorner (above, on far left in a black suit) ceremoniously passed a "torch" statue to the college's new dean, Professor Michael Frumkin (at the podium), during the reception.
Among the guests were UCF's President John Hitt and Executive Vice President and Provost Terry Hickey, other university executives, members of the Board of Trustees and the Dean's Advisory Council, faculty and staff members, and invited guests.
Both the president and provost praised Dorner for her effective leadership during the two years she served as interim dean. They also welcomed Frumkin to the campus, saying he was ideally suited to his new position.
