Graduate Program

Cohpa _120517_014_edit _webUCF's graduate program in social work leads to a Master of Social Work (MSW) and prepares students for advanced social work practice. The program educates students for community-based clinical social work practice with individuals, families and groups. Graduates of the program have the ability to work with diverse clients in a variety of agency settings.

The part-time MSW program is designed for working professionals. Courses are held on 1 to 2 evenings per week, depending on courses chosen, with students taking 2 to 3 courses per semester, including summer terms. This includes some online and mixed online/classroom courses.

The curriculum is organized within five areas:

  • Human Behavior and Social Environment
  • Social Welfare Policies
  • Social Work Practice
  • Research
  • Field

The UCF School of Social Work mission of the MSW program is to prepare generalist and advanced clinical social work students to become practitioners who promote optimal well-being, human rights, and social and economic justice.  The school focuses on social change from a regional and global perspective with individuals, families, groups and communities in diverse practice settings through research informed practice.
